MYBL serves the greater Mountain Top Area of Pennsylvania in providing both recreational and competitive travel basketball programs, for grades K through 6th. We believe basketball is more than just a game—it’s a chance to build friendships, learn valuable life skills, and enjoy the thrill of competition. Whether you're cheering from the stands or supporting your team on the sidelines, your enthusiasm and energy make the game even more exciting.
However, one of the most important aspects of basketball is sportsmanship. Respect for players, coaches, and referees is what keeps the game fun and fair for everyone. Referees play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all. They make split-second decisions, often under intense pressure, to keep the game running smoothly. While it’s natural to feel passionate about a call, we encourage all fans to show respect and refrain from negative comments or actions toward officials.
Good sportsmanship means cheering for great plays, encouraging athletes, and setting a positive example for younger fans. It means understanding that referees, like players, are human and can make mistakes. Most importantly, it means creating an atmosphere where everyone—players, officials, and fans—feels valued and respected.
